The VASS Assessment & Accountability Reform Committee met on Monday, June 16.
The purpose of the meeting was to begin preparation of recommendations for the Governor's Innovation Committee, which will meet sometime this summer.
The time and thought that participants had put into preparing for the meeting were quite impressive, and the very productive discussion of key issues got the committee off to a good start.
Jared Cotton, Henry County (Assessment), and Patrick Murphy, Arlington County (Accountability), have agreed to serve as Co-Chairs for the Committee’s continued work this summer.
All of Virginia's superintendents are encouraged to participate in the all-important process of crafting recommendations on assessment and accountability for the Governor's Innovation Committee.
Thank you again for your participation in this important work for VASS and for all of the school divisions of Virginia.
