In conjunction with the start of the Virginia General Assembly's 2017 Legislative Session in Richmond, VASS offers a multi-session conference exploring budgetary and policy issues that are of particular relevance and importance to division superintendents and other public education leaders.
Featuring presentations led by public policy experts, the conference will cover Governor McAuliffe's and the General Assembly's education-related legislative packages as well as the 2017 legislative positions that VASS supports and intends to advocate.
Conference participants are asked to check in between 11:00 a.m. and noon on Wednesday.
Formal conference activities begin with a luncheon and presentation at noon on Wednesday.
The conference concludes with breakfast meetings and a panel presentation from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. on Thursday morning.

Conference Fee and Registration
The VASS Winter Conference is intended for Virginia superintendents, school division financial officers, and other school division leaders.
If you represent a business and would like to participate in the conference, please contact Andy Stamp, the VASS Associate Executive Director, for details about sponsorship opportunities.
The fee for the VASS Winter Conference is $225 per participant.
The fee includes a luncheon and a reception on Wednesday, breakfast on Thursday, all conference resource material, and wireless Internet access.
The registration deadline is Friday, January 6, 2017.

you will be provided with a link to the VASS online payment portal
after you submit your registration.
If you do not pay by credit card when you submit your online registration, the person on the registration form whom you have identified as the billing contact will receive an invoice for payment after the conference.
If a purchase order number is provided on the registration form, it will be referenced on the invoice.
Notice of cancellation must be sent by email to Liza Scallet, the VASS Administrative Assistant, by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 . . . or you will be billed in full.
