Executive Coaching Services

VASS provides executive coaching at no cost to new superintendents during their first year to assist with their transition into the most important educational leadership position in Virginia.

VASS Executive Coach Requirements:

• Accomplished superintendent experience (minimum of 3 years) and a member of VASS
• Experience coaching superintendents or other senior-level leaders
• Time to devote/commit to colleague*
• Strong understanding of K-12 educational leadership and organizational change
• Diverse network of contacts in the K-12 and adjacent fields

Time Commitment Includes:

• Attending virtual and in-person trainings:
  • August 27, 2026 — 9:00–10:00 AM | Virtual via Zoom
  • October 26, 2026 – VASS Fall Conference
  • January 4, 2027 – VASS/VASBO Winter Conference
  • April 26, 2027 – VASS Spring Conference
• Conduct a minimum of 8 coaching engagements with your assigned superintendent
• Use monthly check-in prompts aligned to VTLA sessions

Compensation:

• $2,000 coaching stipend
• Reimbursement for up to four in-person coaching visits (maximum of $500 reimbursement/year
