Federal Funding Pause Update

According to multiple news sources, the White House has rescinded OMB memorandum M-25-13 that sought to pause federal funding.

A federal judge has temporarily blocked the executive order to freeze federal funds and grants until Monday, February 3rd.

Please see the latest updates from AASA below on the federal funding pause.  It includes a Q and A from OMB that also clarifies the scope of the pause.  This new OMB memo explicitly states that Head Start will not be impacted by the pause.

Today has been a flurry of activity as our team worked to track down information and make sense of a wide-reaching memo released by the Trump administration last night, proposing to freeze federal funds. We know that many of you have been following today as information was been tracked down and updated, and we wanted to share our latest blog post. We are still waiting on a concrete answer for if E-Rate and school meals are impacted; many are interpreting the exemption of programs that directly benefit Americans to include child nutrition meals. We will be updating the blog as more information becomes available.
