Membership Basics

Any business or organization deemed by the VASS members and/or VASS staff to be in good standing with the organization is eligible to become a VASS Business Member.

There are seven different levels of membership in VASS from which companies can choose.

Level One is the Standard Business Affiliate Membership, which is required for businesses that wish to participate in any event that VASS sponsors.

Businesses can choose to support VASS to a greater extent by selecting to become a Sponsor (Level Two), Associate Partner Without Exhibit Booth (Level Three), Associate Partner (Level Four), Senior Associate Partner (Level Five), Partner (Level Six), or Senior Partner (Level Seven).

Membership runs for a full calendar year after the registration date.

Business members of VASS receive a variety of benefits and services depending on their level of support.

Affiliate Membership

Level One

Eligibility 
 
A business or organization deemed by the VASS members and/or VASS staff to be in good standing with the organization is eligible to become a VASS Business Affiliate Member. 
 
 
Membership Dues  

The annual dues for a Standard Business Affiliate Member (Level One of VASS Business Membership) are $1,200. 

Membership runs for one calendar year.  
 
Membership Benefits 
 
Standard Business Affiliate Members (Level One of VASS Business Membership) receive the following benefits: 

  • Business Affiliate Membership in VASS for one calendar year, which includes the following: 
    • Eligibility to participate in VASS events (additional fee per representative at each event) 
    • VASS Annual Conference attendee list 
    • Listing on VASS website 
    • Contact information for Business Representatives who attend VASS Annual Conferences will be provided to Superintendents  

Opportunities for Enhanced Exposure for Businesses 

The Virginia Association of School Superintendents provides its Business Members with many opportunities to gain a greater level of exposure with the VASS Superintendent Members. 

Standard Business Affiliate Members can become more involved with the organization by choosing to support VASS at the following higher levels: Sponsor, Associate Partner (without exhibit booth), Associate Partner, Senior Associate Partner, Partner, or Senior Partner.

Sponsor Membership

Level Two

The Virginia Association of School Superintendents provides businesses with the opportunity to become more involved in supporting VASS by sponsoring a speaker, session, or event at the annual Spring Conference.  

The VASS Spring Conference is currently scheduled to be held as an “in-person” event, at the Hotel Roanoke, April 23-25, 2023. 

Sponsors of the VASS Spring Conference gain great exposure to Superintendents from all Virginia public school divisions through their interactions at various presentations and break-out sessions during the conference.   

Representatives of Sponsors can take advantage of a wealth of networking opportunities, including receptions, meals, and social activities, to build relationships with current and future clients. 
 

Fee  

Membership in VASS is required for participation in any VASS event.  

The fee for Sponsorship of the VASS Spring Conference (Level 2 of VASS Business Membership) is $3,500. This fee includes a VASS Business Membership for one calendar year.  

PLEASE NOTE: Level Two Sponsors do NOT receive an Exhibition Booth as a benefit, and most of the benefits below are applicable only at the VASS Spring Conference.

Sponsors (Level Two of VASS Business Membership) receive the following benefits: 

  • Sponsor Membership in VASS for one calendar year, which includes the following: 
    • Eligibility to participate in VASS events (additional fee per representative at events other than the Spring Conference).

  • Recognition of specific sponsorship in Conference Program 
  • Recognition of Sponsor’s support and printing of company logo in Conference Program 
  • Onecomplimentary registration for Sponsor’s Representatives to attend the Spring Conference 
  • Sponsor may send representatives to Fall and Winter Conferences for additional fee per representative 
  • Provision to Superintendents of Contact Information for Sponsor’s Representatives 
  • Contact information of Superintendents who attend the conference

Associate Partner (without exhibition booth) Membership

Level Three

The Virginia Association of School Superintendents greatly values the sustaining support of members of the business community who have chosen to become Associate Partners, Senior Associate Partners, Partners, and Senior Partners of VASS.  

The companies which choose to support VASS at one of these five highest levels play a crucial role in providing the resources necessary to help Virginia’s superintendents achieve their educational mission of delivering a high-quality education to all of the students of the Commonwealth.  In appreciation of this support, VASS provides Associate Partners and Partners with a wide range of benefits.
